In partnership with The Canton Repository, every week the Stark Community Foundation is highlighting positive happenings in our community. Here’s to a Good News Monday!

• We’re grateful to Beacon Charitable Pharmacy (formerly Prescription Assistance Network) for being a beacon of hope for the uninsured and underinsured in our community. Beacon has helped local residents fill 75,000 prescriptions valued at $15 million since 2009.

• Thanks to the support of many local individuals and businesses, the Canton Chapter of The Foundation for Community Betterment recently donated more than 300 pounds of feminine supplies to Refuge of Hope to assist its female dinner guests.

• Congratulations to this year’s Women’s Impact Award winners: Barbara Hammontree Bennett, Maria Heege, Judith Barnes Lancaster and Girls on the Run of East Central Ohio! They will be honored in March for their longstanding commitment to empower women in our community.

Stark Community Foundation is the community’s trusted partner in giving to nearly 750 individuals, families, businesses and nonprofits that have created charitable funds to impact the lives of others through the most effective philanthropy possible. The Foundation and its family of donors have granted nearly $160 million to nonprofits since 1963. Learn more at www.starkcf.org.
